Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love for sprinting at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first attempt she made, she was ranked second in 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed her high school education and was signed to a pro-contract for Adidas. In 2004, she began her studies at an institution called the University of Southern California, where her major was elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. She became the world's youngest champion in 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 beating her former Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in every event.
